Bloodsongs, Issue 8

1997 Implosion Publishing
Publisher Dave Bauer
Editor in Chief Cynthia Ariel Conlin
Fiction Editor Steve Proposch

Bloodsongs #8
came out in early 1997 and was the first issue to be published by its new owners Cynthia Ariel Conlin and David Bauer who ran Implosion Publishing. Cynthia took over as Editor-In-Chief with Steve Proposch remaining on board as fiction editor, which, I believe, was a part of his deal when he sold the rights.

The new owners of Bloodsongs made their presence felt immediately. Even though the layout was changed and the print quality was vastly improved, I was still disappointed when I first saw a copy. What was cool about Bloodsongs was that it was unique. Steve and I always prided ourselves in that Bloodsongs had its own persona or feel about it. Now it looked like a dozen other horror magazines. To me Bloodsongs had just lost its style and originality.
