Bloodsongs, Issue 2
Published by Bambada Press, June, 1994
Edited by Chris A. Masters & Steve Proposch
Assistant Editor: B.J. Stevens

Bloodsongs #2 took us almost six months to publish.
Our distributor, Gordon & Gotch, had this weird policy where they didn't pay up from the first issue sales until our second issue had been delivered to them. To raise money Steve organized a benefit concert at a local pub that gave us the few hundred dollars we needed to pay the printer a deposit to begin printing the second issue.
Unfortunately, the printer we had hired stuffed up big time. When we got our copies of Bloodsongs #2 back from them we found that the silver ink on the cover border would come off when you rubbed it with your finger. Also, some of the interior pages were not cropped properly or were creased. I remember getting into a big fight with the printer on the phone after I refused to pay unless he redid the job.
When we finally got the money from the first issue sales we spent it on much needed computer and office equipment as well as on paying contributors and various other expenses.
We also ended up with almost 2000 returns of Bloodsongs #1 that occupied a huge corner of our office. |
