Here I am, another writer with a website. Well, you are here so I must have done something right. Please look around but stay out of those dark corners ... there are things lurking in there. As horror is an emotion it is not defined by genre. I like this. Horror writing can be visceral or quite subtle; it can use the settings of well-established genres such as science fiction, crime, fantasy, even comedy and romance. Its scope is only limited by the writer's imagination. Many writers like to use the term "Speculative Fiction" whatever that means. I never liked it. Too vague. Sounds a bit ... err ... too speculative, even pretentious, almost as if they are ashamed to use the "H" word. Well, I write horror: nothing speculative there. Some of you may remember me as the editor and publisher of 1990s horror magazines, Bloodsongs, Misanthrope, EOD and Shoggoth. In 1992, I founded the Australian Horror Society for which I served as president until 1996. Over the past few years, I have been keeping a pretty low profile and concentrating on my own writing. I have completed two novels titled Dark Music and Endless Diary and am working on several other projects. I am always adding bits and tinkering with this site so please bookmark it and come back.
